Central Area Business Forum

Durban is characterised by a versatile and dynamic informal sector which includes a variety of economic activities like street vendors, informal recyclers, food sellers and so much more. Informal trading is an important part of the Durban economy and contributes to job creation and the sustainability of livelihoods, however measuring the sectors economic contribution and creating an environment where the formal and informal sectors can co-exist remains a challenge.
