Durban BCI: 2025 Q1 Data Collection – Durban Business Confidence Index Survey

The Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry NPC in partnership with the University of KwaZulu-Natal and eThekwini Municipality has commenced data collection for the Durban Business Confidence Index covering the first quarter of 2025.

The Business Confidence Index (BCI) measures the present mood or sentiment of business people in conducting their day-to-day business (Pellisier, 2002).

The Durban Business Confidence Index is expected to be the leading indicator that reflects the current economic situation and future direction of commerce, monitor growth in output and present an advance warning of economic activity turning points.
