Having revised our strategy in 2023 to three streamlined Pillars (VOICE, GROW, OPTIMIZE) as a part of the strategic objective for business community support, the SME, Youth, and informal sector businesses were identified as a key area for development and more intense support for this sector, as it plays a key role in the value chain of job creation, through entrepreneurship.
This is a platform for uplifting and empowering the Youth Sector and Informal traders. It is geared to assist these sectors and to support them on the journey of formalizing their informal businesses. This tier structure focuses on empowerment and growth for emerging businesses.
The target market for this Tier is from the learner foundation career phase. Students in high school who may or have not decided on career paths (Grade 10 High school learners, to Age 35 SME, Youth entrepreneurs) who have just started their businesses.
This would entail the incorporation of a Business Imbizo to empower upcoming business individuals, in collaboration with Municipal / Wards through Sizakala Centres in Township / Rural Communities.

Through the Chambers’ collaborative partnerships, we will host Small Business Exhibitions for them to market their businesses/products. This will also be a workshop training opportunity.
