Stakeholder Announcement: SAPS Briefing on Safety and Security Readiness for 30 June 2026: 24 June 2026
June 24 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Dear Member
As we fast approach the looming 30 June, planned deadline by civil society movements, requesting the removal of undocumented immigrants in the country, we are concerned about the safety and security of business operations in our city. It is important that we collaborate all safety and security resources to safeguard business operations during this critical time, with the city of eThekwini prone to civil unrest following the July 2021 catastrophic events, it is imperative that we are prepared and ready.
It is therefore with the above in mind that, as business community representative the Durban Chamber requested a business leaders meeting led by SAPS to give us a detailed assessment of state of readiness, and to see how we can collaborate efforts through our private security measures to ensure the safety of the business community of eThekwini.
The SAPS led by Major General Makhoba, will be addressing the business community of eThekwini, to give a state of readiness assessment and plan.
